Process & Services
MJLD is a full-service residential design studio focusing on residential kitchens and bathrooms, delivering a warm, personalized experience and enduring design.
PHASE ONE / ONBOARDING
We start with a phone call and home consultation, where I share our processes and learn about you and your project. Once we’ve mutually agreed we’re a good fit, a scope of work and letter of agreement are signed. It’s at this point where you fill out a questionnaire to understand your style, challenges, and renovation goals.
PHASE TWO / PLANNING & DESIGNING
We start getting to work with a site visit to gather information and measurements and review current structural conditions. The fruition of a new space begins with draft sketches and design concepts for the client’s initial feedback before moving to the fine details of the design.
PHASE THREE / DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
New floor plans, elevations, and detail drawings are created on paper, while material finishes, color palette, and mood of the space come together to create a sense of what the renovated space will look like. This is the biggest phase besides the actual construction and is a collaboration between MJLD and the client to ensure that what they see on paper and with samples is what they want and will have when the renovation is complete.
PHASE FOUR / PROJECT MANAGEMENT
While the construction is being done, we meet with contractors and trades on-site to verify that the design is being built to the specifications on paper and that details are not being neglected. So, when you move in, the space will resonate with you and be a place for memories and joyful events.
“Molly has been a great partner and guide through our kitchen remodel, and we appreciated so much of what she offered:
her eye for beautiful aesthetics, while always staying grounded in the practical functionality of the space, to give us a beautiful and functional space.
she understood our preferences, offering great options while guiding important decisions, all the while being mindful of costs.
Being available to answer our million questions.
BEING FUN TO WORK WITH!
